BACKGROUND
From 1972-1989, she worked in a variety of
arts-related jobs including freelance copywriting for the advertising
industry and museum fundraising campaigns, and territory sales and
graphic design of four-color lithography services. Subsequently, she
managed bookstores and curated collections of antiquarian books, maps,
and manuscripts for institutions and private collectors. From 1979-1983,
she restored and sailed the "Griffin" a legendary 1938 English
wooden racing sailboat. Since 1991, she has concentrated on large-scale,
conceptual, fine art photography projects. From 1999-2000, she was
involved in producing "Reunion," a critically acclaimed
musical, first Off-Broadway and then at Ford’s Theatre in Washington,

In addition to the LAPD, "Are You
Sworn" project she has done:
"Elegies on Brambles,"
A photographic study of the Outsider art memorials built by families
throughout the American Southwest at the scenes of violent deaths.
"Harris Tweed,"
a photo project shot in Edinburgh and the Outer Hebrides about the
history and traditions of the famous textile whose visual, tactile, and
emotional qualities are a metaphor for the Celtic terrain and
personality.
"The Big Wheel,"
a photographic and historical study of the traditional confluence of the
immigrant experience and amusement parks, primarily focused on the Santa
Monica Pier.
"Transit,"
a photo project addressing the transportation systems and populations of
major metropolitan areas including Los Angeles, Washington D.C., New
York City, New Orleans, London, Berlin, and Paris.
"Reparation,"
a photo study of the racial history and current status of race relations
in New Orleans.
